Aidan’s Gluten Free

Aidan's Gluten Free is a Canadian company founded in 2008 by Grant and Sonia. The husband and wife duo wanted to bring high-quality, nutritious products to people with gluten restrictions. Their artisan-style breads are made using traditional techniques reminiscent of great bakeries and with only the finest natural ingredients. The goal of the re-design was to align the brand image with its values better. They wanted the new elevated packaging to convey the high quality of their products and the traditional artisan-style techniques they used to make them.

The BADGES

We decided to utilize small stylized badges to replace the allergen list. This allowed the icons to be better incorporated into the design while remaining prominent enough that the consumer could quickly read the necessary nutritional information.

The Illustrations

To keep all the illustrations cohesive, we utilized a consistent background image and illustrated the individual products in the scene. Since the loaf could be displayed differently depending on the retailer, we wanted to ensure that the gusset delivered a similar impact to double as the front of the package if the loaf was displayed lying down. To accommodate this unknown, we featured the same dome to house the logo and a smaller, more iconograph-style illustration anchored by the two translations of the product's name.

Social Media

Many of our earlier social posts were created to generate greater brand awareness, as many have been created in partnership with retailers who offer Aidan’s products. Since then, we have repackaged their three main lineups: the original white gluten-free products, the red lentil and blue corn brown products and their newest lineup of fermented gluten-free sourdough items.
